Web address guide

Your web address.

It’s the yourname.com people type to find you. The first year comes with every build. After launch it lives in one of two places, depending on whether you choose care, and either way it’s legally yours.

Porkbun’s prices are estimates as of September 2026. Hosting your site is free either way, forever. If that ever changed, I’d move your site for free.

Without care: it moves to you at launch

About ten minutes of your time, free, and nothing about your website blinks while it moves. We do it around launch day. Happy to do it together on a call if you’d rather.

Step one · about 5 minutes

Make yourself a free Porkbun account

Porkbun (yes, really) is the friendly little shop where your address lives. Go to porkbun.com, tap Sign up, and use your everyday email and a good password. The account is free. Porkbun asks new accounts for a quick ID check before an address can move in, so it’s worth doing right away.

Why Porkbun? Fair prices, no pushy extras, and privacy protection included free: your home address won’t be published in any public directory.

Step two · one message

Tell me your Porkbun username

That’s the whole step. I send your address from my account to yours (Porkbun calls it a push), and Porkbun does this for free.

Step three · about 3 minutes

Accept it and put your card on it

  1. Porkbun emails you about the incoming address. Click Accept within 3 days (if it slips by, no harm; I’ll just send it again).
  2. Add your card to your account and leave auto-renew ON. This keeps your address from ever accidentally expiring and being snapped up by a stranger. Renewal is about $12 a year, starting a year after it was first registered, paid straight to Porkbun, never to me.
  3. Send me one message: “got it!” 🌱

Never send me your password. I don’t need it, and I’ll never ask for it.

With care: nothing to do

Held for you

I keep it renewed and pointed at your site

Your address stays in my Porkbun account with you listed as its legal owner, so it’s always legally yours. The renewal is part of care, and so is sending email from your own address if you want it. One less thing to remember.

If you ever stop care, your site stays up and the address moves into your own account with the three steps above: free, about ten minutes of your time.

Already have an address?

Wonderful. Keep it right where it is; we just point it at your new site. Tell me where it lives (Porkbun, GoDaddy, Squarespace, anywhere) and we can do it together on a short call, or follow along below.

With care, you can choose: I can move it into my Porkbun account (you stay the legal owner) so the renewal is included, or you keep it where it is and keep paying for it there.

Pointing it · about 5 minutes

Point it at your website

Where your address lives, find its DNS settings. Add these nine records, one at a time: tap copy here and paste over there. For the A and AAAA records, the Host (or Name) field stays empty, or @ if your registrar asks for something. For the last one, the CNAME, put www. Everything else keeps its normal settings.

CNAMEwww → juno-arch.github.io

If there are old A, AAAA or www records pointing somewhere else, those get replaced by these. If you already use email at this address, don’t delete anything else: the email records stay exactly as they are. When in doubt, send me a screenshot and we’ll do it together.

Last step · one message

Tell me: “done!”

That’s everything. Send me one message and I’ll flip the switches on my side.

Never send me your password. The address may take a few hours to wake up across the internet; that’s normal, like mail forwarding kicking in. Then your site goes live at your very own address. 🌱
