What happens next

From hello to a live site.

Here’s the whole path: what I do, the few things I’ll need from you, what it costs and when. No surprises, and no homework you didn’t sign up for.

The path

The whole path, step by step

  1. A free mockup firstBefore anything starts

I make you a free mockup of your site. In your portal you pick the build you like (the prices are right there), tap anywhere on it to leave me notes, and send any photos. I write back by email, as many rounds as it takes. Nothing to sign or pay yet.

  2. A yes, in writingWhen you’re ready

I open your getting-started page: a few details and a one-page agreement in plain words (what we’re building, the price, and these steps). Half the build reserves your spot (card or bank transfer).

  3. Your content, and a few questionsThe clock starts here

You answer a few questions about your work, by email, and I write your words from it. You send photos, or we pick free stock photos you can keep. The build clock starts the day all your content is in. If it isn’t in 30 days after you say yes, I’ll nudge you gently; at 60 days the project closes so my calendar stays fair to everyone waiting. Your deposit covers the work done so far, and if you pick it back up within a year, it counts toward finishing. Life happens; just tell me.

  4. A draft in about a weekAbout a week after content

You get a private link to a real, working version of your site, not a sketch. It’ll already sound like you, because it grew from your own words.

  5. Two rounds of changesBy email

Each round is one email with everything you’d like changed, all in one place. Two rounds is usually plenty; if you’d like more, I’ll quote it first, before I start. If your site books or sells, we also test it all with pretend clients first: you book a fake appointment from your own phone and watch it land.

  6. LaunchThe second half is due

Your site goes live at your own web address, and you get your one-page “Your site” sheet, your brand sheet, and the logins to the accounts I set up for you. The second half of the build is due at launch.

  7. 30 days of settling inTweaks on me

Tweaks for the first 30 days are on me, and I’ll check in to see how it’s all feeling. Your subscription starts after your 30 days of settling in, not at launch.

  8. And after thatFrom then on

Your subscription begins, and nothing changes for you: I can follow your socials and update as you post, or you keep emailing me, and I keep taking care of it. Hours, prices, photos, wording, as often as you need (more on your subscription below). I’m still the one who writes back.

Ready in

How long it takes

Counted from the day all your content is in, not from the day we first talk.

Planted about 2 weeks
Tended about 3 weeks
In Bloom about 4 weeks
Your part

The few things I’ll need from you

  • Your answers The getting-started questions, then a few more by email. I do the writing.
  • Photos of you and your work Yours or a friend’s. Good window light goes further than you’d think. Or free stock photos you can keep.
  • Changes by email One email per round, with everything in it. It keeps nothing from slipping through the cracks.
  • If you’d like online booking: your session types, prices, hours, and how close to a session someone may cancel Four small decisions. I set up everything else in your own booking account.
  • Your Google profile: add me as a manager About 2 minutes, if you already have one. No profile yet? I build it, and you do Google’s one quick check that it’s really your business (a short video, or a code it sends you).
  • A click or two on “confirm your email” I set up things like your newsletter and booking in your name, with your email, so they’re truly yours. You’ll get one or two confirm-your-email messages from them during the build; just click them.
  • If you take payments: your own Stripe account This one has to be you, since Stripe asks for your own ID, tax number and bank account, but I help over email, step by step, and then you add me as a Developer. Your clients’ money goes straight to you, not through me.
Money, plainly

What you pay, and when

For the build, it’s half to start (it holds your spot), half at launch. Card or bank transfer.

After launch, your subscription keeps it growing, monthly, matching your site: $12 a month keeps a Planted site healthy, $45 keeps a Tended site fresh as the seasons change, and $90 keeps an In Bloom site in full bloom, booking and selling for you. It’s hosting, your web address, backups, and me keeping it all current.

  • Your changes, whenever you need them I can follow your socials and update as you post, or you can email me (hours, prices, photos, wording), as often as you need. I usually make the changes within 2 business days, and you get a “your changes are up” email the moment it’s live.
  • Your magic site It’s yours for good. Whenever something small needs changing, you just message me through it. It’s part of every subscription.
  • What your subscription pays for, so the bills come to me Every tier: hosting, backups and your web address. Tended and In Bloom add email from your own address, your Instagram feed, and your newsletter’s paid plan once your list passes 100 people (up to 1,000). In Bloom adds your booking, payments or shop, running on my server.
  • What your subscription doesn’t pay for Stripe’s card fee (about 2.9% + 30¢ per payment, taken from your own sales), paid plans of apps you already use (Square, Vagaro, Acuity and the like), ads, or a newsletter list over 1,000 people.
  • When it starts Your subscription starts after your 30 days of settling in, not at launch. It’s monthly, and it ends at the end of the month you’ve paid for.
  • If you ever cancel your subscription Your site is still yours. I hand you every file and every login. With In Bloom, your booking, payments or shop can’t keep running on my server, so I help you move them into your own accounts.
  • Anything big A new page or a new feature, I’ll quote first and start once you say yes. If anything breaks, or I got something wrong, I fix it.

I’m taking 5 founding clients, through Dec 31, 2026, and their build is half off: $300, $600 or $900. The subscription is the same for everyone.

My prices are fixed; other companies’ prices are estimates as of October 2026.

The handover

What lands in your hands

  • Your live site, at your own web address The first year comes with your build, and after that your subscription renews it. I hold it for you, with you listed as the legal owner, and if you ever leave, I hand it over.
  • Your one-page “Your site” sheet What lives where, which logins are yours, and how to reach me.
  • Your one-page brand sheet Your colors and fonts (and your logo, if you have one), ready for any designer or print shop, so flyers and cards can match.
  • Your Google profile, set up Your Google Business Profile, the listing on the map, with your hours, photos and a link to your site.
  • A login to your own booking account, if you have booking In your own booking app: change your hours, block off a vacation, see your week, all from your phone.
  • Every account that should be yours, in your name Anything I set up for you, like your newsletter on Buttondown or your booking on Cal.com, is made with your email, and its login comes to you privately at launch, with its own strong password for you to change the first time you sign in. Your Google profile and your Stripe account (if you take payments) are yours too, with me added as a helper. I won’t ask for a password you already use.
  • The site itself It’s yours. That’s the deal, in writing.
And breathe

What you don’t have to do

  • Learn code, hosting, or any tech vocabulary
  • Write about yourself from a blank page
  • Keep the machinery running
  • Update your site. I can follow your socials and update as you post, or you email me what’s changing, and I take it from there
  • Wonder what’s happening. You can always just ask me, in plain words

You don’t need to decide anything technical. Tell me how you work, and it’ll be built around that.
